Restorative: To see needs. To improve. To be attentive to potential.
After undergraduate I took up a job in student services 2,000 miles away in Gig Harbor, Washington. Forming relationships with a community over 200 youths became my life. The experiences with shaping and leading youth deepened my understanding that it would always be a part of my calling.
There were many hats I had to learn to wear to in each of these positions. I was responsible for building community while maintaining boundaries. I was to challenge individuals and be highly attentive to their potentials.
You say there’s no opportunity where you are? Create the opportunity. Then take advantage.
